This piece, in the form of a choreodrama, revisits the body as and within the landscape, a recurring theme throughout Né Barros' work, in order to evoke radical, boundary-pushing images of a foreseeable catastrophic future.
Like a dance of death, the bodies gradually reveal themselves through increasingly heightened gestures, before slowing down into stillness and immobility.
In Esta Hora de Espanto, through the body and the text—a fiction written by Tiago Mesquita Carvalho—images of catastrophe are drawn, revisiting questions surrounding the limits and fragilities of the body, as well as figuration and disfiguration in dance.
