Emerging Artists Performance Series

Projections is a cycle of work presentations by emerging artists. The aim is to support these artists with
the creation and dissemination of their projects.
Call for applications
Stage 1: Applications
Applications must be submitted until 22 October 2026, using the following online form:

Stage 2: Selection of projects
The selection will be announced by email until 20 November 2026
Stage 3: Public presentation of the selected proposals
Date: 2 March 2027
Presentation venue: Coliseu Porto Ageas
Selection Criteria
Participating artists must have a maximum of three creations of their own authorship in a professional
context, including the one that is being submitted in the application.
The works to be selected are preferably the one’s of visible creative exploration that can generate new
visions or new problematics about dance, theatre, the body or performance. Preference will also be given
to works with small formats and some portability.
Formats
Works can be presented in the form of a studycase, performance, choreography, play, solo, monologue or
group work. Works should not exceed 10 minutes in total length. Exceptional cases may be considered by
the selection panel.
Conditions
Balleteatro is responsible for the performance, providing the facilities, technical and human resources.
Balleteatro is also responsible for promoting and publicising the event, using its current resources.
Each author is responsible for any necessary authorisations or copyrights.
The estimated payment is €500.00 per performance.
Final considerations
a) The selected artists authorise the publication of the content and images submitted as part of their
application by balleteatro’s media channels. balleteatro will publish the images submitted as part of the
application solely within the context of the ‘Projeções’ programme. Artists must hold the copyright to the
images submitted for publicity purposes.
b)Balleteatro guarantees the security and confidentiality of the application submitted data. Information
will only be used for the defined purposes.
c)Decisions on the acceptance and assessment of applications lies solely with balleteatro. Balleteatro is
not obliged to provide comments or justifications of the selection.
d)Balleteatro promotes video and photographic recordings of the public presentation of the selected
projects for balleteatro's own archive. Images can be used to publicise the cycle. Some images can be
given to the participating artists upon request.
e)Applications to the Projections cycle, the official programme, implies full acceptance of these
regulations.
