Emerging Artists Performance Cycle
The Projeções cycle, an exhibition of performances by emerging artists, is extended to the students of the Balleteatro Escola Profissional, in a parallel program whose main mission is to make the projects of these young creators in training known to the audience. This year, thirteen proposals are presented, from students of the various years of both courses, Theater and Dance, in which a wide range of topics is addressed, ranging from childhood (in a report on child exploitation), to old age (and age-specific lapses of memory), going through the transition period, in which adults submit to society's norms and principles. There are also artistic perspectives - students who focus on Salvador Dalí's universe, for example; cultural - starting from the struggle for women's rights; scientific - inspired by Chaos Theory and the Butterfly Effect; futurists - fictionalizing the year 2086 or the existence in space; and, above all, daily life - the collapse of a stable routine, the desire to fill empty spaces, the concept of "pocket conversations", the similarity between Portuguese sign language and the sea and the possibility of starting a life from scratch . A window to the ideas and references of these future artists and what they have to say to us.
