Choreographies. Essays on dance and philosophy
The small dancing body limits itself to asking for no more than it is, but its life is closely linked to everything that makes it a face. The figure that may emerge from this is a carnal figure that finds its maximum singularity in the poem: I am silent; I am silence; I am untransmittable. Thinking about art implies thinking about the various writings that allow us to speak to the world. Several stories are linked to and found in choreography, which deserve to be discerned and instigated, felt and differentiated. It is perhaps in this process that a writing of dance interrupts a logic of dysfunction and function in order to debate at the level of a politics of form. The texts gathered here traverse and inscribe a restlessness linked to the creative act, in its full discursive extension: from the creator to the critic. They accompany different moments of personal maturation, but above all, they were written at distinct social and political moments. Faced with a world of so many calamities and challenges, we do not expect art to save us, a task that does not belong to it, but rather that it endures and makes us embarrassed by the evils we cause in the world. May it do so by resisting, for not everything is replaceable or transmissible. Choreography or writing that will also resist its transformation into reading.
