Rust is the witness of the action of time on lives, whether organic, like human existence, or inorganic, like the metal moulded on wind instruments. ferro à ferrugem evokes melodies and images about the maturation, aging and rebirth of bodies, about their changes and memories, about the distortions and adaptations that days impose on living and inanimate skeletons.



Born in Recife, Brazil, Alan Sencades studied Linguistics and Literature before dedicating himself entirely to circus arts. He moved to Portugal, where he studied at INAC (Instituto Nacional de Artes do Circo). In 2020, he finished the Professional Circus Course with a work in progress of the show ferro à ferrugem at Casa das Artes de Famalicão. In 2021, he participated in Mostra Estufa with the same show.

Born in Braga, Bárbara Lopes has a degree and a master’s in music performance, with a specialization in bassoon by the University of Aveiro (2018) and Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo (Porto, 2021). She collaborates regularly with several Portuguese professional orchestras and is a reinforcement in Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa and Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras. She is currently attending the Master’s in Music Performance, specialization in bassoon, at Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (Zurich, Switzerland).
