Jorge Queijo
Musician, multi-instrument player, composer, sound artist, producer and teacher /trainer. He has a degree in Jazz from the Porto School of Music and Performing Arts and completed his master's degree in Music Leadership from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. He develops his musical activity between repetitive minimalism, complex drones, improvisation, free jazz and rock. He collaborated with several artists in the field of improvisation and experimental music, including Chris Corsano, Nate Wooley, John Zorn, Rodrigo Amado, Yoshio Machida, Call Lyal, Burkhard Beins, Fritz Hauser, Hugo Antunes, B. Fleischmann, Liz Allbee, Duncan Speakman, Sara Anderson and Hofesh Shechter. He composes music for dance, video, sound installations and children's shows. Since 2013, he has been a teacher/trainer at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan in representation of the Casa da Música do Porto and, since 2018, he coordinates the Educational Program of the Matosinhos Jazz Orchestra.
