FAHR 021.3

Filipa Frois Almeida

Filipa Frois Almeida, Halle (Germany) 03.07.81. Graduated in architecture from the Escola Superior Artística do Porto in 2006, having completed the Erasmus programme at the Technische Universität Berlin between 2004 and 2005. Between 2006 and 2011 she worked in architectural offices in Berlin, such as LWArchitekten and J. MAYER H. At the same time she studied photography at the Portuguese Institute of Photography, in 2010/2011 she attended a photography course at the Imago Galerie Berlin and in 2022/23 she completed a Master of Artistic Photography at the Institute of Cultural Production and Image in Porto.

In 2012 he founded FAHR 021.3 with Hugo Reis, an experimental and creative studio that, by combining the disciplines of art and architecture, seeks to rethink and redefine space and place. Here, it embraces projects of different scales and typologies, from: temporary architecture, public space, landscape interventions, scenography, as well as the programming and coordination of cultural projects. Since then, the FAHR duo has been honoured nationally and internationally for a series of projects characterised by their formal and provocative approach.

In 2014 she was one of the founders of the HODOS collective, which aimed to enhance walking routes by offering a sensitive and affective experience throughout the walk, using pieces of art and architecture.

At the same time, she works actively on her personal photography projects, where she explores the interstices between multiple dimensions of what is defined as agonisms: the self and the other, time and space, life and death.

From 2020 to the present day, she has been part of the PhD programme in architecture of contemporary metropolitan territories at ISCTE - IUL, where she explores the relationship between cultural dynamics

Hugo Reis

Hugo Reis, Guimarães 27.03.1986. He obtained an integrated master's degree in architecture in 2009 from the Escola Superior Artística do Porto. In 2010, in search of new personal and professional experiences, he joined the architectural firm Jürgen Mayer H. in Berlin, where he worked as a project architect and architect in charge of various scales of intervention. In 2012, together with Filipa Frois Almeida, he co-founded FAHR 021.3. An experimental and creative studio that, by combining the disciplines of art and architecture, seeks to rethink and redefine space and place. It embraces projects of different scales and typologies, from: temporary architecture, public space, landscape interventions, scenography, as well as the programming and coordination of cultural projects.

Territory, landscape and public space are cross-cutting topics in his career and, in 2015, he co-founded the HODOS collective, a plural project between several architecture and urban planning studios aimed at art and architecture interventions in the landscape.
