Construir o Porto com carimbos
Visual Arts' Atelier with Catarina Rodrigues / 6-12 years old
In the workshop “Building Porto with Stamps” we will analyze the origin of stamps and how they evolved into an artistic technique. Some examples will also be presented of how this technique can be used in various materials/supports, such as ceramics, fabric, canvas, among others. In this session we will work with stamps as an engraving technique, understand how they are made and later engraved on paper, in order to create an illustration with them. Each participant will be able to carry out their own construction of the architectural landscape of Ribeira, with various stamps inspired by the houses in Porto.
Catarina Rodrigues
Catarina Rodrigues is a visual artist and designer, with a great fascination for urban art and the public context. She's motivated by its many aspects and it has been a privilege to be able to spread color and create new shapes in cities, companies and private customers. Sharing knowledge is another of her passions and she has been developing stencil workshops with different target audiences. Whether on a wall, on a canvas or on a floor, even digitally, in the end, it all boils down to a great charm for the interaction of art with the public and for the possibility of creating new dynamics. She has a degree in Fine Arts and Intermedia from the Escola Superior Artística do Porto and a Master's in Art and Design for the Public Space from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto; and continues in a constant discovery of new techniques, materials and ways to surprise the audience.
